The Aquarium, engraving by Pierre Cottin (1823-1886) after a work by Constant Joseph BROCHART (1816 - 1889 ou 1899). Published by Goupil & Co the 1st of october 1874. On China paper mounted. Mint condition, with margins, never been framed 45 x 57 cm plate mark 58 x 68,5 cm sheet. No frame.
This engraving is exceptional for its quality as for its size and condition.
Constant Joseph BROCHART (1816, Lille - 1889 ou 1899, Paris) :
Studied at the Lille School of Fine Arts. He then came in Paris and exhibited his works at the Salon between 1845 and 1862.
